FERT racing team celebrates 2nd place in the 2024 season

FERT racing team, one of the few racing teams from the South Bohemian Region, participates in the Czech Championship on natural circuits. These races are held both on city tracks, such as Hořice or Staré Město, and on automotodromes, for example in Brno.

The team was founded in 2023 thanks to the FERT company, which decided to enter the world of motorsport. Riders Martin Hrstka and Jan Sklenář compete in the Supertwin category. The first season already showed their competitiveness.

For the 2024 season, the team gained a new sponsor, the company Jaspo Autodoprava s.r.o., and Martin Hrstka received a new machine, the Aprilia RS660, considered the best choice in this class. At the very first race weekend at the Brno Automotodrom, Martin took 2nd and 4th place, while Honza scored a point.

However, bad luck came at the Slovácký Circuit in Staré Město – Martin crashed, even though he was holding onto second position. The rider and the bike were fine, but the team left without a point.

The races in Hořice were challenging due to the adverse weather. After deciding whether to use wet or dry tires on the track, Martin struggled with an unexpected jostling at the start, but finished in 7th place. However, things went well at the Slovakiaring – Martin won 4th and 2nd place, while Honza also scored points.

On the natural circuit in Dymokury, Martin maintained his 3rd starting position and won the same place in the race. The season finale was held again at the Brno automotodrom, where the title of Czech champion was decided. Martin won 3rd and 4th place, but it was not enough for Petr Najman.

After adding up the points, the team celebrates the title of vice-champion of the Czech Republic CAMS in the Supertwin class, which Martin Hrstka became. Jan Sklenář gained experience and is preparing for the next season.
